Brazilian Railways: A journey journey from past to modernity

This is an experiment done in order to meet the requirements of the discipline Advanced Oral Skills ministered at Faculdade de Letras - UFMG, Brazil.

A sinking ship

How can I start writing a blog or any kind of story? As an unfortunate student who is desperately trying to improve her English and writing skills to pass the CPE Cambridge exam, all I can see are the shadows of my coursebooks and the haunting echoes of my teachers' recommendations. Despite my hopeless pessimistic expectations, I'm eager to embrace the chance of doing something I've never done in my entire life: writing a blog.

Anyway, I hereby formally promise to try my hand at writing in the most unconventional way to me: a wide range of compositions exploring the nuances of language, testing the limits between formal and informal styles and finally checking if this risk is worth taking.

If you have absolutely nothing else to do and want to embark on this almost sinking ship, feel free to share your experiences and tips!
